About A BoyWeek 1: Youtube FriendsIt's crazy to think that some of my best friends are friends that I've never even met before, that people on a little site called Youtube have opened their hearts more to me than the people I've known my entire life. Youtube has enabled me to meet so many amazing people and it's become such a huge part of my life!
Anyone ever heard of a youtube channel called QueerFaqtor? They were having auditions for a couple of weekly spots about a year ago and I auditioned (along with 50 bajillion other people lol). I won't keep the suspense going…I didn't get a spot. At first I was a little upset, but some really amazing people ended up joining QueerFaqtor and the channel has progressed a lot since then. Yay for the winners, but what about everyone who didn't get chosen? Out of the "rejected" pool other collaborations spawned, including my own; "The Alphabet Soup." I created it with the intention of finding uniquely diverse people and did I ever! There was a boy that, in his audition video, talked about his love for comic books, Wonder Woman, and ROBOTS! He wore a little bow tie and had these really HUGE glasses on and spoke spastically. (thinking fondly on the memory...watch the video below) At the end of his video…he did a robot dance! It was amazing! That dance really sold me on him and soon after that he became Saturday on The Alphabet Soup.
I got to know him over the 7 months that he was on the channel and he always knew exactly what to say to make me smile. He introduced me to Montreal (the most gay city in the world) and has convinced me that I'll find my soulmate there. Needless to say, I've been saving up heaps of money to make a trip there…SOON! (watch out ladies…here I come). He listened and laugh with me when I was completely drunk and without even knowing it, helped me learn about myself and love who I am by just being himself. I wanted to write this introduction because I want you all to understand what an incredible person he is and to hopefully excite you for all the is in store here on his column "About a Boy," that will tell his story and transition. Stay tuned for all things trans. PNT Tv Music -jess Coming Soon!http://www.youtube.com/goodnightquietcity
