Happy Pride to all my followers and those who happen to visit my blog. LGBTQI communities throughout the world celebrate pride in the month of June but it is also celebrated in other months of the year by other countries.
It is the positive stance against discrimination and violence against all in the community. There are lots of events such as parades, marches, rallies and loads of parties.
It has come a long way from the first pride march which was organized on November 2, 1969 by Craig Rodwell, his partner Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy and Linda Rhodes.

This came about after the Stonewall riots, which took place on Saturday 28 June, 1969, when LGBTQ persons rioted following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn. A gay bar at 43 Christopher Street, New York City. More rioting and protests were the beginning of the modern Gay Rights Movement.
So to all LGBTQI persons, we have to appreciate how far we have come but recognize that it is still illegal to be gay or indulge in LGBTQI activities in many countries around the world in one capacity or another, including in my own country.
In Trinidad and Tobago we celebrate privately, either in our own homes or at small gatherings around the islands, as we celebrate loved ones and friends inflicted with the HIV virus that have passed. We have lunches, meetings and many parties in celebration, but we have never marched or held a parade.
So enjoy your pride celebrations however you can, wherever you can, whether you are in the closet or out.
Love You All, Bless Up!
