Tales of an Inspired MusicianShow #5Music Today & The Grammys (Lady Gaga (down)As I was watching The Grammys this past Sunday, I was shocked at how UTTERLY SHITTY this year was. Artists performing were ALL over the place vocally and none of the shows really blew me away -- minus Eminem, but that's another story. I wanna know what you guys thought and what you think about music today?
I personally feel that this Grammy Awards Show proves that TECHNOLOGY is the REAL talent here. Simplicity seemed to win out this year and I don't really blame the Academy for giving Lady Antebellum a big win that night -- even though I felt the song did not triumph over most others in certain categories. I think it's time to make a statement and kick these wannabe talented people off the stages and put REAL artists back on them. To give some foundation to my point...check out the video below of Bruno Mars performing at the Grammys. Go ahead and skip forward to about 4 mins and SIT BACK AND LISTEN TO THE DISASTER THAT HAPPENS! My message to Bruno Mars: Don't try to take it back to the days when music really meant something if 1) you can't sing it and completely horrify the name of the genre and 2) if it doesn't mean shit to you. By your performance, it obviously didn't. You can shove that crap you pulled, right up your ass. I was offended by your performance! Lady Gaga - "Born This Way"Okay! I'm trying to calm myself before I get started on this blog. . . NOPE, can't do it. WHAT THE FUCK is this shit Gaga came out with on Friday? Great, the lyrics have something to say, but she only explicitly states what all other artists have undertoned in their songs this past year (ex: "Firework" - Katy Perry and "Raise Your Glass" - Pink).
Still, the music is HORRIBLE. There has been some talk that Gaga ripped this song off of Madonna. I haven't taken the time to listen to this particular song, but I probably hate this song because it resembles Madonna. Brittney or Gaga? I pick Brittney for 2011 so far. "Hold It Against Me" isn't all that great either, BUT Brittney did push music into a new direction with her incorporation of Dub-Step. I have to give it to Spears, that break down is AMAZING! I do thank Gaga though, for always keeping the LGBTQ cause alive. I'm praying her album is MUCH MUCH better though. Fun & InspirationalI've decided to include a couple videos in my blog/vlogs every week of some music videos that I find to be brilliant in their respective genres and messages. I hope you enjoy them!
NOT TOO FOND OF Rihanna here, but EMINEM is the INSPIRATION All My Love,
