Tales of an Inspired MusicianVanessa Carlton
Show #14
Carlton came out as bisexual during a performance on stage at Nashville Gay Pride. Before launching into her song "Who's to Say", Carlton announced, "I've never said this before but, while we’re here and living out loud as we should every single day, I, myself, am a proud bisexual woman.
It's been a while since news about Vanessa Carlton's bisexuality has come out, but nonetheless, I still want to say "YAY! Another on our team and YAY! 'ere go another album!" In an interview in April 2009, Carlton stated that she was halfway done with a new album called Rabbits on the Run. According to Carlton, she chose the title for the symbolism often depicted by rabbits – 'time slipping, mind floating' – which is something she has been relating to for the past few years.
Rabbits on the Run will be released on June 21, 2011 under Razor & Tie. The first single from the album is a song called "Carousel." Which you can hear above. All in all, I have to say I'm not too impressed with "Carousel." It sounds like Vanessa just went into a multimillion dollar studio and improvised something. Maybe, I'm just not a fan of her style. I still wish her the best for her release. Hopefully, it won't be another flop like "Harmonium" was. Will Vanessa ever get away from the "Thousand Mile" image or will that song be her greatest accomplishment? What do you guys think? Comment down below! Comments? Questions? Anything?
